Weight Loss and the Slow Cooker

A good way to prepare a good diet food to lose weight is to use the slow cooker. Its easy and convenient, plus you can do it pretty easily with little cooking skill required. However, the recipe must not be too complicated because it defeats the purpose of using the slow cooker. (Which is just to put in food and be done with it) It's especially useful if you want to motivate yourself to eat a good diet food because you won't be tempted to eat junk as soon as you get home. Imagine yourself going home to a pleasant aroma that's both warm and savory, will you get yourself a cold pizza? Definitely not! This can also serve as a deterrent for excuse such as "I'm tired, let's just eat outside", or "Let's just microwave some junk food".

What should you fill the slow cooker with? I suggest that you fill it up with an assortment of good vegetables and healthy saturated fat meat. (Which is really healthy according to the latest scientific findings) Just add a little broth or water to make it juicier and you're done! Just have some fun with your kids, work on your latest project, play your favorite video games or just pull the weed while waiting for the slow cooker to work its magic.



Right now you might be wondering what you should put into the slow cooker. Previously, I talked about how you should not overly complicate the recipe because this will defeat the whole purpose but you should really have more variety of vegetables and meat so you get all the nutrient and flavors. Another thing you should consider if the food is satisfying to your cravings. If you love meat, put more of it! However, here's some idea for you to start with a bang in all departments. It's satisfying, have variety so you get the entire nutrient and flavor and its not complicated.

Here's what you should get ready:

2 pounds of ground beef or any ground meat for that matter
1 onion
4 cloves of garlic
Salt and pepper for taste
2 carrots
6-ounce can of tomato paste
1/2 head of cauliflower
1 tablespoon of dry oregano
4 large green peppers

Here's what you should do with all the ingredients. Note, you should not worry if you don't have the above ingredients in your kitchen because the slow cooker is very forgiving, which is another thing I like about slow cooker. You can literally mix and match the whole menu and it will probably come out fine. (Although adding not so wholesome food is not recommended) Another tip, if possible use only organically grown vegetables and meat. (Free range and etc)

All right, let's move on to the instructions. Which is pretty straightforward and simple. Just cut off the top of the pepper and clean the seed out. Chop all your other ingredients into small pieces and mix them together in a bowl. (This include adding salt and pepper for taste) And lastly, put the mixed ingredient into your pepper and put it into the slow cooker.
