You could also say it all boils down to your "desire & discipline."

If you walk into the gym and simply go through the motions without having a burning desire to really affect change to your body, then you are better off going home. Let's put it another way, if you aren't really sweating to the point where you need a towel, then you aren't working out hard enough. The best exercise in the world does you little good if your mindset isn't in the right place. Psych yourself up before working out. It's that enthusiasm which is at the heart of desire.

Get some muscle magazines and awe at the development of its athlete's. Picture your muscles increasing in size and making the visible gains you want, and imagine those images as you workout, but make sure you are focused on what you are doing, or you risk injury.

Have you ever observed someone in the gym who is well developed, working out extremely hard, and is very focused and intense? One who is much more focused and intense than your average person? If you took two people, and had them do the exact same exercises, with identical weight and form, in other words everything is equal, the only difference being that you gave one of them more protein to eat in the days following their workout than the other, when you compare their growth and development, the person who ingested more protein will have noticeable improvements in muscle growth as compared to the one who ingested only an average amount of protein. So unless you incorporate this "last piece of the puzzle" into your overall bodybuilding scheme "protein," you'll never realize your true growth potential.
