3 Foods Under 58 Cents That Are Good For Weight Loss

With all the problems with our economy now... now isn't the time to be splurging on expensive foods. So in an effort to save you some money, I'm going to share with you 3 foods that cost under 60 cents.

These foods are packed with protein, fiber, and or both. Taste good, easy to make, help with weight loss, and best of all... cheap!

Here are the cheap weight loss foods...

Weight Loss Food #1: Tuna

Each 6-ounce can of tuna has 33 grams of protein, .5 grams of fat, and 0 grams of carbohydrates. Packs a solid nutritional punch. So if you're feeling kinda fishy, you can buy the 6-ounce can from Wal-Mart or wherever for about 58 cents.



Weight Loss Food #2: Blackeye Peas

Each can of the "Great Value" brand of blackeye peas from Wal-Mart has 35 grams of protein and 17.5 grams of fiber. Also has no sugar and only .5 grams of fat per serving.

So if you don't want me to give you a "black eye" get some blackeye peas. Ok, I'm getting kinda cheesy, I know. Anyway, a can will cost you 48 cents.

Weight Loss Food #3: Hamburger

I can hear it now... "That's a weight loss food?"

Well, if used correctly, the answer is a definite yes! First, you can get a box of quarter-pound hamburger patties (20 total) for $5.50 at Wal-Mart. So each hamburger patty would cost you about 28 cents.

Now, if you cook up a hamburger patty on a George Foreman type of mini-grill... then put it on a bed of lettuce... and did it just once a day... it will help you to lose weight. I've done it 3 times a day for a week many times and have lost 3+ pounds in those weeks!

Cut up the hamburger and mix it into the lettuce. Maybe use 2 tablespoons of ketchup or a barbeque sauce (I use honey mustard barbeque sauce) for flavor. Each hamburger patty has 30 grams of fat and 19 grams of protein. It's also 350 calories.

Since lettuce has virtually no calories, that's only a 350 calorie meal for you. You do need fat for your survival.... so don't get all crazy with me about the high fat content. All things being equal, I'd rather you choose a high fat food than a high carbohydrate food since most high carb foods are processed to death.

Now add those 3 cheap weight loss foods to your arsenal. Not only will you save a ton of money each month, you'll be eating healthier and losing weight. Works for me. Does it work for you? Just try it out, geez. What do you have to lose, maybe $10 trying these out for a week.
