Liquid Diet For Fast Weight Loss

One of the problems with dieting is that it is difficult to cut down on what we eat. We never really know when to stop, our ideas of portion sizes vary so much that the whole scenario is fraught with problems. We compare one food with another , we try to vary the method of cooking, but we cannot get away from the fact that our bodies need food as well as water to survive.

It is because of our "relationship" with food and our "occasional" inability to control how much we eat that makes dieting so difficult. This may also explain the amazing successes of the liquid diet known as "Lighter life".

Lighter Life is a programme where by it's followers do not eat "normal" food. Instead they have Protein Packs. These are mixed with water to produce liquid drinks full of all the necessary ingredients we need to live and function, without the need to consider what we have for a meal or any food at all. This is a very clear diet. It is not about what you are allowed but about the fact that you eat nothing for a minimum of nine weeks (true after week one you are allowed a protein bar to eat but only one a day and that is all the eating for the duration of the fast weight loss programme).

People who follow this diet lose on average three stones - many lose more. The difference is dependent on how much you need to lose. The heavier you are then usually the more you lose. This diet can be extended beyond the nine weeks and you are monitored by your doctor as well as the counsellor assigned to your group.

Once you have completed your non -food section then you move to a programme of gradually introducing foods. This part actually takes twelve weeks and many still lose a little weight while following this process. You discover that your ability to eat large meals has reduced and your whole attitude to food has changed. It is very much a programme of re-education, and the chance for your body to re-establish brain communication - i.e., you will know when you are full. There is also the reality that you have worked jolly hard to get the extra weight off and nothing is going to make you allow yourself to get so big again.
