High Intensity Interval Training: How to Burn Fat While You Sleep!

If you're getting started with a workout program and starting to get your cardio sessions in order, you must not overlook the benefits that interval training provides. Whether you are actively trying to see fast weight loss or you're simply looking to take your fitness level to a new higher level, there's no question that interval training is a great way to do it.

High intensity interval training can offer you advantages both in the short term and in the long term. Both of these are important. Having short term benefits is a great way to maintain your motivation as you begin incorporating fitness into your life. Long term benefits will keep you engaged as the newness of exercising begins to wear off.

Boosting your metabolism is one of the benefits of working out using high intensity interval training. As soon as you finish an interval training session, your metabolism will increase. Actually, your metabolic rate will be increased for up to 38 hours after you finish a interval training workout!

This means that if you do three interval-training workouts a week, separated by one day in between each session, you'll literally experience a faster metabolism throughout the entire course of the week. Since your metabolism is a key determinant of how much fat you lose, this can quickly add up to significantly more progress.

Second, another big short term benefit from interval training is that it's going to really cut down on how much total gym time you need to be doing. With interval training you'll get in and out of the gym in about 20-25 minutes, while with your other steady state cardio training workouts you may have been in there working for 45-60 minutes at a time.
