Lose 20 Pounds in 2 Weeks - How to Lose Weight in a Pinch

There are many occasions when people want to lose weight rapidly. Maybe you are going to a high school reunion and need to look your best. Perhaps you have let yourself go for months, and you would like to get back into shape to pursue a new job. Your wedding day is another very special occasion that often comes much sooner than you expected with all of the planning and preparations. Don't sweat it, as there are a couple of good proven methods that can help you reduce your waistline, and lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks.

The first step that you want to take would be to get yourself a good juicer, or blender. If you are on a budget, you can pick up a relatively inexpensive blender for less than $20 at your local discount store. Handheld mixers are also a good option for making smoothies and juicing. I prefer to use a hand mixer because it makes individual servings, and nothing goes to waste. Stock up on a lot of fresh and frozen fruit along with fresh vegetables from the produce section in your local grocery store. Buy a large container of protein powder. Protein powder can be mixed with your juices and smoothies. It is an excellent tool for reducing hunger and making you feel full. Substitute a fresh juice blend or a smoothie for breakfast or lunch.

Make a large salad with some source of protein for another meal, and drink lots of water. Avoid alcohol and coffee because these drinks may dehydrate you, and add extra unwanted calories. Alcohol defeats your weight loss efforts. Your body will burn calories from alcohol first, then any other calories that you get from a proper diet. If you have trouble drinking lots of water, add a little fresh lemon or lime juice along with lots of ice. This treat will cool you off, and give you a boost of vitamin C.

Finally, to lose 20 pounds in two weeks you are going to need to exercise. High energy cardio is the way to go. Running or intense aerobics are both excellent exercises for rapid weight loss. Workout for at least an hour a day for 5 days each week. Give yourself a day or two to recover, and you can even add a relaxing exercise on the 6th day to continue burning calories rapidly. Try pilates or yoga. Remember to get yourself a supportive buddy, and a journal to track your progress.
